swaitsandClaude Opus 5.5 cab6e8a334 P2 slice 1: one executable (D-22)
The server and the viewer are libraries with run(prog, args), returning
Exit(code) instead of ending the process; ledger-mcp and ledger-gui are
one-line shims (the live books keep using them until the cutover).
wanderbooks dispatches dev-stdio and gui to them in-process; a mode must
come first and owns its flags. The gui feature (default) leaves the
viewer out of the server-only build, which just server-only builds,
clippies, tests, and checks for window libraries. The viewer's mutation
recipe is retired (owner, 2026-10-18); its two musts are tested
directly. Two review rounds; mutation on the diff (docs/testing.md).

swaitsandClaude Opus 5.5 c587593d78 P1: the books keep how they are kept
Settings, conventions (posting templates, approval rules, policies,
close steps, calendar, mappings, notes), decisions, open items and
entry approvals are journal events (journal format 2). Books that keep
their settings never read wanderbooks.toml or config.json; the server
and the viewer take the vault key from --vault-key-file instead.
books.import_settings moves a settings file in once, exactly as the
server reads it. Approval rules, when enforced, gate every posting
path. Replay refuses what it can't read as newer, never as corrupt.

Lean: a record changes no figure. Mutation on the whole diff: every
survivor killed by a test but two equivalent (docs/testing.md). The
Company page says a late open item is overdue in words, not colour
alone.

swaitsandClaude Opus 5.5 6fb594ed28 gui: every screen lays itself out to fit, down to a 360-point tiling slot
Narrow windows overlapped and clipped: the top bar's crumb, date, and
search ran into each other; big numbers wrapped mid-figure; tables
painted columns over each other; the entry and document panes squeezed
their lists to slivers; anything too wide widened the whole page.

- Below 1000 points the sidebar becomes an icon rail (names, attention,
  and integrity checks in tooltips).
- The top bar lays out right to left: search shrinks to its icon, the
  date drops, the crumb truncates.
- Pages are pinned to the window width with narrower margins when tight,
so one wide thing can't push everything off screen.
- Tiles (KPIs, cash accounts, documents) fit as many columns as the
width allows, balanced across rows; KPI figures shrink rather than wrap.
- Painted tables shrink their amount columns, clip labels with an
ellipsis, then scroll sideways rather than overlap.
- List/detail splits show only the detail when both won't fit.
- Reports: the side list becomes a picker; controls wrap by known width.
- Smaller fixes: chart labels thin out, company facts stack, journal
timestamps yield, transaction filters become a dropdown.
- Min window size drops to 360x400; the screenshot test covers every
report, a register, a document, and a journal event.

swaitsandClaude Opus 5.5 c09325ef8c feat: ledger-gui — a read-only, live desktop view of the books
egui/wgpu app for owners and their accountant: Overview, Cash, Profit,
Transactions (with rendered receipts and journal history), Reports
(statements with interval columns, comparisons, drill-down), Accounts,
Documents, Company, Journal; Ctrl+K palette; back/forward; light/dark.
Follows the journal live (~30 ms from write to screen). --demo opens a
deterministic demo company, also used for screenshot tests.

Engine: ledger-store Snapshot (read-only, incremental, tolerant of a
half-written tail); ledger-core analysis (intervals, balance series,
P&L by interval, cash flows); ledger-config extracted from ledger-mcp
with the full company profile and cash_accounts.
